We are so excited to welcome you and your child into our home! We are Mirlis and Aram, and our family is built on a shared love for learning, curiosity, and community.
Our professional backgrounds blend educational excellence with a deep understanding of child behavior. One of us is a teacher at a prestigious school for gifted children with a strong background in behavioral analysis; the other has extensive experience teaching languages to kids through full immersion. This unique combination allows us to understand and address the diverse needs of each child, creating a personalized and enriching environment for their growth.
With advanced degrees in Economics and Law, our experiences have taken us from our roots in Cuba to extensive travels across Europe and the Americas, giving us a deep appreciation for different cultures.
This rich background has instilled in us a profound appreciation for diverse perspectives and the belief that every day is an opportunity for discovery. Our own children, who attend Terra Centre Elementary, are a testament to this spirit. They are happy, curious, and love being part of our wonderful Burke community.
Our home is a place filled with our passions for music, books, and creative projects. We aren’t just offering a service; we are opening our doors to your family. We can’t wait to create a nurturing, joyful, and enriching environment where your little one can thrive right alongside our own.

We value the principles of Maria Montessori and Waldorf education, blending hands-on, child-led learning with an immersive connection to the natural world. Our multilingual approach—integrating both Spanish and English (and sometimes Italian and French!) —opens doors to cultural awareness and cognitive development while fostering a love of learning from an early age.

At Chipmunk’s Jump, our mission is to offer an exceptional home daycare in Burke, VA, for children from 3 months to 5 years old. We provide a cognitively, culturally, and socially enriching environment, fostering confidence in every child. Through play and learning, we are dedicated to cultivating happy, capable individuals with strong values, who are prepared to contribute positively to their community.
