Halloween is over, and many families in Burke find themselves with an excess of candy. It’s a common “problem” of the season. However, a neighbor in our community has launched an inspiring initiative that transforms this surplus into a powerful gesture of solidarity.

The proposal is simple: collect leftover Halloween candy and donate it.

The goal is to send these sweets to children in Ukraine, so they can receive them as a gift and a surprise during Christmas. At a time when generosity is needed more than ever, this initiative directly connects our community with families thousands of miles away.

This isn’t just a way to manage the extra sugar at home; it is a tangible opportunity to teach our children about empathy, the value of sharing, and the global impact of a small, local act.

🧸 How to Participate

Participating is very easy. Simply gather the candy you wish to donate.

All sweets are being collected at the following address in Burke:

9937 Hemlock Woods Ln, Burke,VA

We invite all families to consider joining this effort. It is a direct way to bring a smile to a child this Christmas, proving that Burke’s generosity knows no bounds.
